We’ll be meeting at Crossroads at noon, then heading up to Glade Park with permits to cut down trees. We’ll be using these trees to make our spiral later this month. After cutting the trees down, we’ll come back to Crossroads for a soup dinner and we’ll watch “The Star”.

Our blue Christmas service is for anyone who struggles to find joy in the Christmas/Holiday season, and needs a more contemplative, slow paced, meditative service. The spiral is related to this, and is a “spiral” of pine branches on the ground with a lit candle in the center of the spiral in a totally dark room. You’ll take an unlit candle and walk the spiral however slowly feels right to you, light your candle, and leave your candle somewhere on the spiral, wherever feels right to you. As the service progresses, the spiral will go from being dark and unlit, to being filled with lit candles, and light up the dark room.

Special Christmas is something we wanted to do that will be similar to VBS. We want to have a Christmas event that is a gentle, joyful celebration of the season filled with sensory-friendly, flexible activities. Just like VBS, we’re wanting this to be a family event, everyone is welcome to participate.
