Help Fruitvale Elementary

We have been in contact with Fruitvale Elementary School (the school south of our church) and we have discovered it has some needs. They need some sponges (any size, any kind) to use as ice pack for kids when they get hurt. They also need some sandwich-sized plastic bags. There is need for these items due to cutbacks on school budgets. If you could help out by donating any of these items the children, teachers and staff of Fruitvale Elementary would be very appreciative. Please place them in the marked container beside the office.

Mission Produce Table Open

Share your bountiful summer harvest by donating your extra produce to the Mission Committee Produce Table in Fellowship Hall.  Also, come and pick up fresh and local grown produce and donate to the Missions Committee.  Please pay fair market price for the produce.  Thank you.

Outreach to Mesa View Retirement Residence Through Reverend Charles Thompson

Crossroads UMC is providing services on the second Sunday of each month at the Mesa View Retirement Residence, 601 Horizon Place.  Reverend Charles Thompson will bring the Message, while Linda Thompson will play the piano for singing.  All are invited to come and share in this worship service.  If anyone has a musical talent, and the are willing to share, please call Charles at 314-5046 for more information.

Donate Coupons and Help Military Families

Thank you for your diligent work!  We have sent $4,539 worth of coupons to Lakenheath military base in Suffolk, England for our military families to use.  This is the same base that Staff Sergeant Matthew Rettig, son of Mel & Maurine Rettig, is stationed.  Thank you to all who donated and Ron & Lorraine Pethick for counting, sorting and mailing the coupons.  Crossroads UMC would like to continue to reach out to military families serving overseas..  Clip manufacturer coupons and place them in the designated bag in  the church office.  Do not submit store-specific coupons (such as Target).  Military commissaries accept coupons up to six months past the printed expiration date (please don’t donate coupons more than two or three months old since we have to process and mail the coupons).  Coupons can be placed in a plastic bag at the front desk.  We will send the coupons monthly.  For more information contact the church office at 242-0577.

The Crossroads United Methodist Church offices will be closed Monday, September 6 in observance of Labor Day.  Regular office hours will resume Tuesday, September 7.  Thank you.
